Hello there! We would like to introduce ourselves, Amanda Barr and myself, Jemma Herbert, have just launched GreenLeaf Press, an eco conscious stationery business based near Liverpool, in the UK.
We specialise in helping clients create stunning wedding stationery for their special green occasion, using ethically sourced materials and eco friendly printing techniques.
We both come from an Arts background and have strong environmental ethics, and so combining the two to make a living seemed to be a logical progression!
Our business is largely web based, but we have been looking into different ways to market ourselves.
Mainstream wedding fairs are two a penny now- wedding suppliers and brides recognise the importance of experiencing, at first hand, the ingredients that will create their special day. So it was surprising for us to discover that there have been just a few green wedding fairs nationally. We understand savvy couples would also appreciate the opportunity to experience at first hand the choice of green products to create their special day. A lot of wedding planning is now done online, but it’s worth remembering that our senses of touch, taste and smell are equally important in making the right choices for what is always a very multisensory occasion!
And so, GreenLeaf Press will be hosting a uniquely green wedding fair on 5/6th September 2009 in Little Crosby, Liverpool. The Great Big Green Wedding Fayre will be an exciting two day event, showcasing some of the UKs most exciting fair trade and ethical suppliers of everything from seasonal blooms to recycled bridal wear; vintage accessories to fairly traded jewellery.
For green girls planning to get married soon, it will be well worth the trip to pick up ideas and suppliers. Highlights will include workshops on ethical wedding tips, a complimentary afternoon tea, a bridal fashion show with dresses from Oxfam Bridal, plus a very special green goody bag to take home.
