Just In time for the holidays and then some! Sheryl Cohen and Anne Vollen have come out with the guide to all that is green in the city in a coupon book! This is truly one of those ideas where ya think why didn’t someone do this sooner! You remember those Entertainment coupon books that organizations and churches sold as fundraisers…they were filled with coupons offering discounts at stores, restaurants, entertainment centers, etc….well Sheryl and Anne have done a green version and some of the coupons in the book are for things you would actually use!!
First I must say this book is currently only being offered in San Francisco, but hey look around there might be one like it in your city or if not, get in touch with these inspiring ladies and ask how you go about doing it yourself (I support eco-preneuers all the way!!).
The Green Zebra has coupons for Rainbow Groceries, Medicine (this is a restaurant by the way), Blue Water Laundry, Organic Architect, and a whole LOT more! This book is thick!
(I’m so happy they gave one to me at a party we were at a couple weeks ago, when I started to look through it I thought holy cow there is some really good stuff in here, that I actually use anyway, so now it’s nice to get the extra discount!!!) but nonetheless it’s only $25 for $12,000 worth of savings! And it’s not just a coupon book there are articles and snippets on what you can do to save the environment, where to shop, how to be carbon neutral, gift giving, how to have a green wedding, a listing of farmer’s markets, and like I said before a whole LOT more! A portion of each book’s purchase goes to the Conservation Connection Project, this is an environmental program for grade school children.
I’ve already ripped out coupons and started using the book for holiday shopping, not to mention the book itself would make a great gift alone!
