Organic Burns Supper

Bagpiper at Burns Supper in Scotland
Ok, we’ve just had the Solstice, Christmas is imminent, but in Scotland we need to plan for Burns Night on January 25th.

If you’re in Inverness on Wednesday 24th January you can go to an organic supper, organised by the Soil Association Scotland and the Real Education Active Lives (REAL) Project at Inverness High School. Organic vegetables served will have been grown in the school grounds (these are also sold at Inverness Farmers Market) by the pupils, keeping those food miles to an absolute minimum. Pupils that work on the REAL Project also have a blog, where you can find out more.
There will also be the obligatory poetry recitals as well as drama, music and a speech by Jimmie MacGregor.

Sounds like a great night (and I’m not even a fan of Burns), tickets are £28 for Soil Association members and £35 for everyone else, which gets you a four course meal, drinks and entertainment. All takes place at Inverness High School.
