More Green Wash

Posted on 03 July 2007

There was a very interesting piece on the midlands news tonight about Tesco’s milk. I have seen the local choice ads on the T.V and had to raise an eyebrow as they were claiming you can now buy locally produced milk in their supermarkets. Apparently trading standards have been called in as you can only claim produce is local if it’s produced in the same county or a bordering county. Suprise, suprise Tesco’s claims have been found to be misleading. Local choice milk sold in Herefordshire has actually comes from cows in farms over 150 miles away. I’ll watch with interest to see if Herefordshire and other counties trading standards  prosecute.
If you do wish to support your local milkman and local farms check out Findmeamilkman
