I don't think Alicia is forcing her dog Samson to eat vegan. She tried to see if he would like it and he does so there's nothing wrong with it. She's making sure he's getting the right nutrients. He's not even 100 % vegan away .She said people will always feed him meat when she takes Samson for walks in New York.

Hi Melissa, thank you for your comment.

I love the image of your dogs waiting for the best fruit to fall from the trees.

My partner's mum's dog loves scrambled egg too and my sisters dogs like all kinds of foods including veg.

Just to update, we've decided not to have a dog for now but we have adopted another rescue bunny. His name is Murphy and he's a delight. Plus there's no meat buying dilemma, he's 100% veggie :)

Maybe we will have a dog one day - as you say if we really want to do it we'll find a way.

Hi, Vicky. I know this is an old post, but couldn't resist putting in a quick comment. Dogs actually are omnivores. I have 3. We aren't vegetarians and don't have the rules about buying that you obviously do. (We need to work on that.) Anyway, we used to live on 10 acres with wild plum trees, blackberries, and persimmon trees, and our dogs would watch them for the fruit. I have watched all 3 very delicately pick the ripest, juiciest blackberries on the bushes with their teeth. Our female would start checking the persimmon trees as soon as they leafed out, and they were always going for the plums. I think getting the protein might be the problem and being aware of what they can't have. Oh and I have a friend who gives her outside dogs a scrambled egg in winter for the warmth from the cooking as a treat. So where there is a will there is a way, but you might have to go to alot of effort. Best of luck.
