I went through this process a while ago and was shocked at what I had been wearing! And I thought of myself as a dedicated environmentalist then, although I now know I was buying ideas, not truly green clothes. Interestingly, companies are learning this lesson too. Saf clothing in the UK don't just use organic cotton, they design their cotton clothing specially to avoid the fashion 'illness' of inherent obsolescence, by creating garments styled and made to last.
