When a friend in the eco movement tells me to try a new product because it “really” works I smile for many reasons. The main reason being that us eco chicks and chaps know that our industry takes a hard hit when it comes to convincing consumers that “green” products work just as well as conventional ones. The truth is that sometimes they do, and sometimes they fall downright short of our expectations but that’s part of the journey of producing everything from baby clothes to soccer balls in a new and planet conscious way.
This time-the test was with laundry detergent. Not the most exciting of topics but hey-a girls gotta stay fresh and that’s what the bottle said.
I tried the Shaklee brand called simply “Fresh Laundry detergent” which claimed “Its suds-controlling formula is kind on your washer and triple-concentrated so saves money, water, energy, and space in your laundry room. Sounds fabulous to me.
The formula also claims to be kind on the skin and work as a two-in-one cleaner: an incomparable pre-spotter and laundry cleaner.
Its also said to remove soil 34% better as a pre-wash stain remover than Shout Advanced Action Gel, rivals Spray ‘n Wash with Resolve Power on spot removal, and is 30% better at removing dirt and stains than All Small and Mighty
I loved that it was available in Regular Scent or Fragrance Free as well and went with fragrance free. Basically it was:
- Biodegradable
- Concentrated
- Hypoallergenic
- No phosphates
- No chlorine
and…I loved it!
The mission of Shaklee is to provide a healthier life for everyone and a better life for anyone. Nice concept. Good detergent.
