Grant Competition for Environmentalists of All Kinds!

Posted on 30 October 2009

I’m writing to tell you all about an exciting grant opportunity for environmentalists. Carbon14, a new outdoor and active lifestyle brand, is celebrating the launch of its three new lines of watches—AIR, WATER, and EARTH—by hosting a competition that will award $50,000 to one deserving contestant selected by the public! We hope that Green Girls Global readers will submit!

Whether you’re developing solar technology, working to promote animal rights, or researching a substitute for crude oil, you are eligible to win this competition!

How It Works:

Contestants should visit www.c14time.com and submit a 30-second video and brief essay explaining their projects as well as photographs of themselves.

Voting on first round of entries will conclude on February 28th, the last night of the Winter Olympics. The judges will make their selections of the top five entries by March 22nd and the public will have until April 5th to vote for the winner, who will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2010.

The Judges:

  • Grammy Award-winning Musician Sheryl Crow
  • Model, Activist, and Host of the Discovery Channel’s “Planet Green” Summer Rayne Oakes
  • Chef, “Locavore,” and Owner of Savoy Restaurant in New York City Peter Hoffman
  • Professor of Biology at Bard College Felicia Keesing
  • Founder and CEO of causecast.org Ryan Scott
  • DJ Greg K. of the MisShapes

If You Have Any Questions…

…Don’t hesitate to ask! Send any inquiries to info@c14time.com. Of course, you can also feel free to e-mail me.
