Soil Association’s Organic Food Festival This Weekend

Posted on 06 September 2008

Bristol Harbour sees the return of the Soil Association’s Organic Food Festival this weekend, 6th & 7th September.

And it’s about much more than just food!

Organic Food FestivalIt’s Europe’s largest celebration of all things organic and kicks off this year’s Organic Fortnight.

The festival is in its eigth year and this time there will be over 300 exhibitors, showcasing everything from organic cheeses and wines to eco-friendly cosmetics, clothes and homewares.

As usual, there will be the Demonstration Kitchen, where you can see your favourite celebs in action, plus so many chances to sample simply delicious organic food.

Helen Taylor, Soil Association development director said:

Every year the Soil Association Organic Food Festival just gets bigger and better. There’s something here for everyone whether you’re looking for help growing your own veg, a chance to try out a new organic beauty product, or just looking for something tasty for dinner.

And this year’s festival will be even greener than before. In addition to all the usual recycling facilities, the festival’s generators are going to be powered by sustainably sourced biofuel!

So if you’ve got a chance to be in the Bristol area this weekend, how about joining in the fun? Entry is just £4 on the gate - and the Soil Association will refund your ticket if you join as a member on the day!

See you there.

Breathing Places Christmas Song

Find out what the UK wildlife want from Santa this Christmas.

Breathing Places is an important project about getting involved in conservation and protecting wildlife in the UK. I’m not sure that these animals are 100% anatomically correct though….
