I have been real busy these days - amongst several projects I am making an entrepreneurial green kit together with a group of mighty fine ladies from Morgendagens Heltinder (a danish business women network).
So far we are in the process of making a giant brainstorm meeting with green experts from all over Denmark.
Our first task is to develop a green kit for entrepreneurs and small companies so they can see that they have a green choice to make and they can really make a difference in the world. It’s smallstepping but the energy in the group is so incredibly good.
This morning I was reading Vicky’s (rather excellent 5 blogpost piece) “how can a web design company be green and ethical?” and I decided I would like to hear your opinion on:
What can you put in an entrepreneurial green kit ?
I think Vicky made out the essentials - but is there something (product, goods, advice etc.) that these entrepreneurs can’t live without if they choose to become green ?

Thank you for your positive comments Henriette
I think the green kit is a very good idea and I would love to learn more about it as it grows.
Good luck!

I think Vicky covered almost everything I can think of with her series. One company I know donates 100% of after-tax profits to fairtrade children’s charities but there are simpler things companies can do.

Henriette, I agree I think that vicky covered some very thorough ground.
I do think sustainable transport would be could to include in you entrepreneurial green kit. As whilst there are a lot of internet based companies, some new businesses may need to travel frequently in there work, so perhaps encourage cycling and public transport to meetings. Whilst I work for a charity and not a business, when I turn up to meetings on my bike or using public transport (never a car as I dont drive) people tend to be most impressed. Some even disbelieve that I manage to get to their office using public transport as they have never done in themselves. So that would be good to include.
Also you could include advice on how they can get their employees to become green. Whislt some of the companies may not be at the stage yet of recruiting employees, if there is information in the pack then they will prepared when the time comes. I know that business organisations that I work with are very keen to get their staff actively involved in improving the environment by doing conservation volunteering and some companies encourage their staff to join the Wildlife Trust.
Hope all goes well with the kit, sounds like your a very busy lady!

thanks guys for your thoughts and your comments - I will keep you posted on how it develops - we have done some “allround categories” for entrepreneurs - they are not fully developed yet but I will let you know..
