Earth Dinner on Earth Day

Posted on 14 March 2008

Having friends over to celebrate Earth Day and don’t know what to serve?  Let Earth Dinner help you plan your meal for your family or your community.

1farming.jpgThis event was started three years ago by America’s largerst collective of organic farmers: Organic Valley, to honor Earth Day with it’s own special meal.  This is akin to what we Americans do at Thanksgiving.  It has now grown and is taking root all over the nation.

“Many Americans are detached from what they eat and the tremendous impact of their food choices,” says Theresa Martinez, Earth Dinner Founder.

Go to their website, Earth Dinner to see which public events and fundraisers are taking place near you, or for recipe ideas for your own dinner.

Hope that you had a great Earth Day Arcadia.

Is it just me or is anyone else struggling to keep up with all of the International, World, National days etc. I looked up a list the other day and I think that we could celebrate something every day (sounds good to me - but perhaps a bit exhausting)

I truly would love to see that instead of just once a year - every day was International…..

    Earth Day
    World Peace Day
Be good to women, men, children, animals, plants day
    Protect habitats day
    No car to work day
    Religious tolerance day
    Gay pride day (no homophobia)
Organic, vegan, fair trade food day
    No smoking day
    Reduced energy consumption day

I could go on but I best stop as I think that my point is made. Perhaps I am a dreamer but wouldnt it be a wonderful world / life if we did do these every day.

if you don’t know how to fix it, please stop breaking it.

I haven’t seen this before - but it’s scaring me that this video is 16 years old and still as relevant as it was back then, if not more. I think the message in this video is so strong that it gives me goosebumps - and I am ashamed that we still ain’t fixin it. I would say it’s a must-see. Enjoy.
