Brenda Cuby – Bad habits changed by shopping green

Posted on 19 February 2009

I have to admit that I am a late convert to the whole “green ethos”.  I would occasionally buy organic meat (am a veggie myself) and produce, but never really gave it much thought and as a creature of habit, I used to just stick to buying the old faithfuls.

Then last summer I had the opportunity to start up a new “light green shopping” blog, called The Green Familia.  This has been my inspiration in changing my shopping habits and I hope helping others realise that there are so many wonderful ethical products out there that can help us “green” our lives in a cost effective and easy to manage way but at least we are doing our bit however small in helping preserve our world for future generations.

Whether you are looking for organic food, fair trade products that help families in other countries become self supporting rather than having to rely on handouts, organic clothing, household products, cleaning products, natural beauty products, UK based companies, recyclable products, and the list goes on.  We try and feature a wide range that is varied and interesting for the whole family to try and enjoy.

The stories I have heard and the people I have met through this passage of time has been inspirational, and spurs me on to try and get the message out to as many people as possible through my blog.  It is so important that people realise that if we unite together every small step we take will make a difference.  Every day we have opportunities where we can make a difference, whether it is by changing to an ethical bank or saying no to plastic bags, the list is endless.

I look forward to uniting with you all and helping to make a difference.
