The idea of Green Girls Global came about in September 2006 when Vicky, one of the editors of the fantastic City Hippy blog heard the sad news that City Hippy would be no more. Determined to not let the City Hippy spirit die and inspired by its founder, Al Tepper, the editors decided to continue with a brand new blog.
By coincidence the founding editors were all women and came from various parts of the UK and the world, hence the name Green Girls Global. The blog was set up and is coordinated and managed by Vicky Stevens from the ethical web design company Make Hay Ethical E-Media and the editors all come from various cities, interests and expertise.
Green Girls Global wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the experience and inspiration that City Hippy gave to us and we hope that one day it will come back.
So here is Green Girls Global, an international weblog about people from various different places with various different experiences, skills and interests talking about how they and people where they live are trying to live a life in a way that is positive for the environment, people and animals.
