I wish my Macbook Pro came in green

Posted on 28 December 2006

Greenpeace are doing an excellent “green” Apple computers campaign

one of the catchphrases of the site is “I love my Ipod – but can we lose the Iwaste”

from the site :

Right now, poison Apples full of chemicals (like toxic flame retardants, and polyvinyl chloride) are being sold worldwide. When they’re tossed, they usually end up at the fingertips of children in China, India and other developing-world countries. They dismantle them for parts, and are exposed to a dangerous toxic cocktail that threatens their health and the environment.

Greenpeace are asking Apple to

1. remove the worst toxic chemicals from all their products and production lines
2. offer and promote free “take-back” for all their products everywhere they are sold..

I think it makes sense, if one of the coolest companies within technology would also be substantial and think about their products when they are tossed also.

it would add more value to my general perception of apple – even though Im allready a fan..

so what can you do ?

- look at the iPush site for more ideas and spread the word on your blog =)
